Five Reasons to Invest in La Plagne

If you are considering buying a property in La Plagne, Cimalpes has summarised the resort's main advantages so that you can make a fully informed decision with peace of mind.

1. A Skiers Paradise

From La Plagne .

Buying a property in La Plagne gives you access to 225 kilometres of marked runs spread out over a mountain landscape of magical forests, open higher altitude slopes, and glaciers. With 70% of the ski area above 2,000 metres in altitude, you can rely on good snow cover throughout the winter season.

Did you know ? La Plagne's "Fun Slope", with its tunnels, obstacles and small jumps, is the longest of its kind in Europe, and is suitable for all ages.

. to Paradiski

One of La Plagne's biggest attractions for investors is its connection to Paradiski, the second largest ski area in the world, with 425 kilometres of marked runs. Paradiski links La Plagne to the resorts of Les Arcs and Peisey Vallandry.

If you are staying in your property with a group of people with varying levels of skiing ability, Paradiski has something to offer everyone, and it is possible for beginners to explore the ski area exclusively on blue runs. There are also plenty of more challenging pistes and off-piste terrain to satisfy more experienced skiers.

2. A Wide Range of Activities

Property owners in La Plagne can also take advantage of an exciting range of non-ski activities on offer - a great opportunity to get your heart racing, get in the moment, and try something different.

Why not have a go on a self-guided, self-braking bobsleigh on La Plagne's Olympic bobsleigh run? Alternatively, you can learn about ice climbing on La Plagne's 24-metre ice tower in a magical setting close to the pine forest. Experienced instructors are able to adapt their teaching to suit your needs.

Other experiences available range from spectacular helicopter flights to exhilarating zip line descents, and fatbiking in snow.

3. A Beautiful Environment

Did you know ? La Plagne includes la Plagne Vallée, la Plagne Montchavin les Coches, la Plagne Montalbert and la Plagne Champagny en Vanoise. Higher up the mountain are la Plagne Bellecôte, Belle Plagne, Plagne Soleil, Plagne Centre, Plagne Villages, Plagne 1800 and Plagne Aime 2000.

Clearly Defined Buyer profiles

An Offer in Line with Client Expectations

Key Points

La Plagne has a particularly large amount of accommodation with a total of 56,000 visitor beds, making it the world's leading ski resort in terms of visitor numbers.

The property market here is very dynamic. With the number of buyers 7% higher than the number of properties for sale, sales are completed quickly.

Did you know ? Second homes account for 84.1% of the property market in La Plagne.

Accommodation Characteristics

A large majority of the properties in La Plagne are used as tourist accommodation. Many of them are in self-contained residences where all the facilities required by visitors are available under one roof. The best example of this is perhaps the Paquebot des Neiges. Built in the 1970s with architecture reminiscent of an ocean liner, it is listed as part of France's 20th Century Architectural Heritage.

This twenty-one storey residence contains 850 apartments, offers ski-in/ski-out access, and has been the inspiration for a number of other integrated ski resorts.

In some of La Plagne's other satellite villages such as La Plagne Villages, low-rise residences with four stories have been built on sites that follow the contours of the mountainside. This so-called serpentine layout blends in to the landscape.

Did you know ? In Plagne Bellecôte, apartments are located in ten-storey residences with modern architecture inspired by the hydroelectric dams found in the mountains.

Restructuring at the Heart of La Plagne's Priorities

La Plagne is undertaking a number of projects in order to adapt to the changing demands of its clientele. The Paquebot des Neiges, for example, was built at a time when skiers were not concerned about the size of their accommodation, preferring to focus on the skiing and spending little time in their apartment.

Most of the apartments in the Paquebot des Neiges are small at around twenty square metres, and an increasing number of buyers are now purchasing two of them to convert into a single, larger unit. In light of this trend, La Plagne is starting to offer a more varied selection of accommodation. In Aime 2000, for example, a new project will deliver a range of apartments that will meet the requirements of prospective buyers.

La Plagne's eleven satellite villages complement each other, making up a resort that offers an attractive range of accommodation, much of it with spectacular mountain views. Cimalpes has chosen La Plagne for its many assets, and we firmly believe that buying a property here is a good investment.
