Les Arcs, an exceptional resort facing Mont-Blanc

Les Arcs is a resort that takes full advantage of its superb location as an outlook nestled on the heights of the Haute-Tarentaise valley. It invites you to enjoy its breathtaking views of the highest peak in Europe: Mont Blanc. This ski resort is appreciated for its considerable size and the variety of atmospheres it affords. After all, it offers access to more than fifty slopes. Easily accessible from the capital, perfectly suited to families and designed to respect the natural setting of the site, Les Arcs has already convinced many mountain lovers.

First, a bit of history...

It all started with a dream: that of Robert Blanc, a simple shepherd from Hauteville-Gondon. Inspired by the Alpine pastures where he guided his herd, he imagined a ski resort in the area as far back as the end of the 1950s. Visitors would try their hand at this sport which was gaining popularity with the French. Having become a ski instructor and mountain guide, it was his meeting with an engineer and entrepreneur named Robert Godino that would change everything.

With him, they embarked on the ambitious and innovative project of creating a winter sports resort on the native lands of Robert Blanc. In 1968, they met the artist and designer who would breathe life into Les Arcs: Charlotte Perriand. In Les Arcs, she saw the opportunity to give a new lease of life to winter sports by designing a modern and welcoming ski resort. This was the beginning of a great adventure, which ended up giving birth to a remarkable mountain estate with its own, unique identity.

Four altitudes for four unique atmospheres

One of the particularities of the Les Arcs resort lies in its different destinations because they are so resolutely distinct from one another. Level after level, Les Arcs takes on a new face each time: an original approach to the concept of a ski resort that will surprise many. Visitors can therefore opt, in all seasons, for the destination best able to satisfy their desires, and that will immerse them in the atmosphere they wish to gain from their Alpine stay.

Arc 1600

The historic Arc 1600 was created in the winter of 1968 and acts as a rallying point between the different sites at altitude. With its green slope, a swimming pool with a trainer pool, forest walks and farm experiences, this destination is a natural choice for families.

Arc 1800

A festive meeting place par excellence, this is the most animated site in Les Arcs, offering shops, activities, bars and restaurants galore... A dynamic place, Arc 1800 is the reference resort for those who want to end their day on skis with a wild evening.

Arc 1950

With Cimalpes, the village atmosphere is now to be found in the heart of Arc 1950.

Emerging from the ground as recently as 2003, Arc 1950 is the latest addition to Les Arcs. It is considered to be the most prestigious destination in all of Les Arcs. Above all else, however, is its status as an emblematic village. In an enchanting setting, premium residences and luxurious chalets rub shoulders alongside boutiques and cafés. Les Arc 1950 is an entirely pedestrianised (and entirely skiable!) village, something that contributes to its serene and magical atmosphere. Our specialists in real estate transactions and tourist rental management welcome you and will support you in all your real estate projects.

Arc 2000

Arc 2000, a Mecca for freeriding, is the destination for high-level athletes and winter sports enthusiasts. Offering direct access to the splendid Aiguille Rouge massif, it is the highest site in terms of altitude. It also benefits from optimal snow coverage in winter.

Paradiski, the second largest skiing area in the world

Within the mythical Massif de la Vanoise and the Tarentaise valley lies the Paradiski skiing area. It is home to the resort of Les Arcs but also Villaroger, La Plagne and Peisey-Vallandry, as well. Notably, Les Arcs and La Plagne are linked by the Vanoise Express cable car. Dominated by the Aiguille Rouge and Bellecôte glaciers, its 435 km of slopes are skied every day by novices and winter sports experts alike. The second-largest ski area in the world, only after Les 3 Vallées, it hosts many fun areas, snow parks, first tracks and so on...

The Paradiski area offers its visitors a breathtaking natural setting, with an exceptional view of the majestic snow-capped peaks of Mont Blanc.

Focus on Arc 1950, the must-see village

Arc 1950 deserves a spotlight to be shone onto it, if only for its unique identity which distinguishes it from other village resorts. To be clear, Arc 1950 is the work of Intrawest, a Canadian company that creates tourism infrastructure in North America and Canada. It is from this Franco-Canadian marriage that Arc 1950 was born, a resort with a harmonious and refined atmosphere.

The concept? A mountain village with shimmering colours, a picture postcard setting and top-of-the-range hotel services that are perfect for an extraordinary holiday. 5-star tourist residences, luxury apartments and chalets... these prestigious seasonal accommodations guarantee an unforgettable stay in the Alps. What is special about Arc 1950? All the trips there are made on skis! Whether leaving their residence in the morning or browsing the resort's shops in the evening, the villagers move throughout this dream setting on skis.

Whether you want a moment of relaxation in a jacuzzi facing the Alpine peaks followed by a gourmet dish for dinner, or would prefer to set your heart on a walk on the edge of a wood to inhale the fresh air from the mountains... Arc 1950 propels you into a world that is conducive to both daydreaming and well-being.

In summer and winter, Les Arcs has so much to offer

Les Arcs is a popular resort for the variety of activities it offers to its visitors throughout the year!

Beyond skiing and snowboarding, winter in Les Arcs invites new experiences. As a family or as a couple, why not set off to conquer this white paradise with a dog sledding excursion through the forests of the Vanoise? There is something to amaze young and old alike! More unusually, the Paradiski ski area also hosts the Igloo Village and its ice cave. Live like an Inuit for an evening (or even a night!) in a surprising setting made of snow and ice.

When spring arrives, Les Arcs welcomes the ski2bike, a competition unique in France as a ski/mountain bike relay race! Participants and spectators alike will be on hand to get their adrenaline flowing. With summer well underway, the glistening white expanses give way to green meadows. This constitutes the ideal context to go hiking in the heart of the Vanoise National Park or to take to the skies of Savoy with a paragliding or zip line activity!
