Ranging in altitude from 1,200 to 2,800 meters, Serre Chevalier is a ski resort with a total of 250 km of pistes. Its sheer size makes it one of the largest ski areas in Europe, attracting unsurprisingly large numbers of visitors every year.

The Serre Chevalier ski area

Nestling in the heart of the Southern Alps, Serre Chevalier Vallée is a place of great charm, character and mountain lifestyle.
Its ski area - one of the largest in Europe - extends over 250 km of pistes, accessible to all, from beginners to experienced skiers. With 80% of its altitude above 2,000 m, the ski area offers high-quality natural snow cover throughout the season.

Four authentic villages - Briançon, Chantemerle, Villeneuve and Monêtier-les-Bains - make up this multi-faceted resort, each offering direct access to the slopes and an unspoilt mountain atmosphere.

As well as skiing, Serre Chevalier offers a mountain of experiences. Dog-sleigh rides, snowshoeing or skiing on signposted itineraries, fat-biking, an open-air skating rink, ice karting, and even a giant 1,100-metre zip-line to give you a unique view over the resort.

And because the mountains are also about the pleasure of sharing, Serre Chevalier has designed three 3* picnic areas on the slopes where the teams light up the planchas for you to grill your own meals, in a warm atmosphere and with exceptional panoramic views. A friendly, gourmet break between two runs that makes all the difference.

Serre Chevalier, activities for the whole family

In the summer months, the resort is transformed into a life-size adventure playground. The bike park covers the entire resort, with 9 downhill runs, 9 enduro routes and X-Country circuits, all accessible by ski lift. Hikers are not left out, with trails to suit all levels leading to high altitude lakes, ridges and forests.
Thrill-seekers can try their hand at climbing, via ferrata, rafting, canyoning or hydrospeed in the Alpine torrents. Supervised by qualified professionals, the more adventurous can even try their hand at mountaineering on the surrounding rock faces.

Serre Chevalier is the perfect blend of sport, nature and authenticity. Summer and winter alike, the valley invites you to experience the mountains to the full, at your own pace and according to your own desires.
