The Meribel logo speaks volumes about the identity of this charming resort internationally renowned for its ski area, its architecture, and its quality of services; One immediately falls in love with this resort in the heart of the largest ski area in the world: Les Trois Vallées.
The Valleys of Allues (the official and administrative name of Meribel) stretches from Brides-les-Bains to Mottaret and marks an immense "V" of which every corner hosts among the best tracks of Europe.
The Mont Vallon (2952m alt), the Plattieres, the Tougnete or the Saulire are all long descents without any interruption serviced by fast and state-of-the-art ski lifts.
Children have their own dedicated spaces (Yéti Park, piste des animaux, piste des inuits, turn&run, Piou-Piou) and the adventurous and freestylers will enjoy the boardercross, elements park, snowpark DC area 43…
The family atmosphere of Meribel is very much in keeping with its great Front de Neige in La Chaudanne (neuralgic centre of Meribel) as well as the festive area of the Rond-point des Pistes and its numerous high-altitude terraces including the famous Folie Douce. Exceptional infrastructures such as the Olympic Park (with ice rink, swimming pool, gym, spa, etc.) and the latest ski lifts make Meribel one of the best ski destinations in the world.
Meribel welcomes a diverse international clientele. The resort is particularly popular among the British skiers, which results from its history. Meribel offers a large range of options for accommodation, from the standard studio to the ultimate luxury chalet and 4 or 5-star hotels, but they all have "value for money" as the common denominator.
Several villages and hamlets constitute the identity of Meribel, whose main ones are Meéribel Center, Méribel Village, Le Raffort or Mottaret.
Meribel Center is the main village of Meribel which concentrates most of the accommodation, shops and activities. Meribel Center is very spread out on the eastern flank.
The heart of Méribel Center is centered around the Chaudanne road, between the Place de la Maison du Tourisme with its shops and pubs (L’Abreuvoir, La Taverne, Le Savoy, le Barometer…) until La Chaudanne with its terraces of restaurants like La Cantine d'Alvar, its shops, its hotels, its night bars including Les Saints Pères among others!
Meribel Center and La Chaudanne are also the nerve center of the ski area, with 5 large, state-of-the-art ski lifts converging in one terminal to take the skiers to Courchevel on one side via the Dent de Burgin and to the Belleville valley on the other - Saint Martin de Belleville, Les Ménuires and Val Thorens.
The second heart of Meribel Center, on the peaks of the resort, the Rond-Point des Pistes charms its guests with a live après-ski, large terraces bathed in sunshine, infrastructures dedicated to children (Piou-Piou), chalets and chic apartments.
Located on the slopes of Saulire and Dent de Burgin, the chalets and apartments of the Rond-Point des Pistes neighborhood offer panoramic views of the mountains facing them: Mont Vallon (2952m of altitude), Tougnète (2434m of altitude) .
The more residential areas of Mussillon, La Renarde or the Route des Chalets embody the preserved lifestyle of the Allues valley with typical architecture kept intact by the urban planning code, a quiet environment and a natural setting.
Meribel village is an authentic hamlet with its wooden and stone chalets, small chapel and bread oven. Nestled at 1400m of altitude with a direct access to the 3 Valleys domain thanks to the Golf chairlift you will reach the Altiport in 10 minutes.
On the village square there is a large free car park and a reception for the purchase of your ski passes. There are enough amenities for everyday life with 2 restaurants, a very dynamic bar with concerts at aperitif time, a sports shop, a mini-market, a bakery and a Cimalpes real estate agency. No need for a car, free shuttles are at your disposal to reach the centre of Méribel at 3kms or the Chaudanne (departure of ski lessons, doctors, bowling, swimming pool, nursery etc) or the cross-country ski tracks of Altiport and Mottaret. They circulate every 15 minutes from 7.40 am to 11.30 pm.
Numerous very well signposted walks are also accessible from the Village.A haven of peace for unforgettable holidays!
The Raffort is one of the most typical hamlets of the Meribel valley. Made up almost exclusively of refurbished chalets and barns, the Raffort is increasingly popular and demanded by a clientele in search of tranquility, authenticity, and high-end accommodation.
The "Itinéraire du Raffort" trail gives the hamlet a much-appreciated return by ski. The Olympe cable car, 100m from the hamlet, gives access to Meribel Center and the ski area in 2 minutes. The chalets Hygge or Dzintila are the witnesses of housing that rises in range and of a hamlet whose popularity is only increasing.
