Like most mountain resorts, La Rosière has a distinct architectural identity which reflects decades of tradition. All new developments here must be in keeping with local mountain architecture ensuring that visitors can enjoy accommodation which is as aesthetically pleasing as it is practical.

In times gone by, properties were built where there was access to water. The design of properties was dictated by the requirements of farmers' lives and work. These dwellings were often built very close to one another to facilitate mutual assistance within the community.
Typical characteristics of dwellings in La Rosière included the owner's initials carved into the frame of the building, along with other inscriptions such as the date of construction, or the Savoyard flag.
Terrace and balcony railings were often adorned with rosettes or other ornamental motifs. These decorations are absolutely typical of Savoyard mountain villages.
Today, wood and stone are still widely used in building construction in La Rosière. Lauze stone (slate) is commonly used for roofs thanks to its resistance to wind and snow. These materials are integral to the resort's proud architectural identity.
Traditional craftsmanship is still highly valued during new building projects, and the unrivalled expertise of local artisans allows them to get the very best out of the materials with which they are working. La Rosière's beautiful residences are often clad in wood, with spruce and Scots pine widely used for the framework and interior fittings.
As a result of all these factors, La Rosière has many new chalets and buildings built in the traditional Savoyard style. The centre of the resort has some smaller apartment blocks, which are still on a human scale with very little exposed concrete. Built in the 1960s and 1970s, these are now being gradually renovated.
The Eucherts district is undergoing rapid development. Here, there are many recently built properties as well as numerous ongoing construction projects. The Collet and Manessier districts have a large number of traditional chalets.
Thanks to La Rosière's mountain plateau setting, much of the accommodation here has breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain landscape.
